Hans Figura colour aquatint of Nuremberg
Hans Figura. Austrian 1898-1978
Hans Figura was born in Vienna and was a student of
Luigi Kasimir. He engraved and aquatinted views in
almost every major European country and was a regular
exhibitor in Paris, London, Vienna, Berlin and New York.
The delicate skill and artistry that went into creating an
original colour aquatint was incredibly demanding and
Figura was rated with the Kasimirs and T.F.Simon as the
best. The late 1920's marked a highpoint in the art and at
which time he maintained studios in both New York and
Colour aquatint of the central Market Square (Hauptmarkt)
